No Plans Submitted, No Greenbelt Review, Yet Preparatory Work is Underway

As we sit planning the next stage of our community complaint about the review to our Greenbelt land at Radcliffe on Trent, work has already begun in the Shelford Road end of the village.

This is curious considering that this site is still designated Greenbelt land and as yet no plans have been submitted to Rushcliffe Borough Council for planning permission. This film was taken at 10am this morning (22nd July 2013), only 4 days after William Davis conducted a public presentation in which a large turn-out of the Radcliffe on Trent community made their feelings about the imposition on our Greenbelt land very clear. We do not want these houses building on our Greenbelt.

  1. I live on Clumber Drive, and submitted a complaint via Rushcliffe Borough Council's website on Monday. I have been completely ignored so far, although I submitted another this morning.

I am not sure what my next stage is - I will be calling them this afternoon, as the digging is now happening close to the end of our garden, and is quite noisy. No planning permission has yet been applied for, so how are they allowed to do this?

  2. I just spoke to someone at Rushcliffe Borough Council, who say the work is ok, because they are doing an 'Archaeological Survey' rather than building work. Presumably that is allowed under planning regulations, or at least they are pretending it is allowed. It is happening this week and next week.

  3. Thanks for your efforts Chris, it would seem that it is time for us to co-ordinate our efforts as a community. We have just booked space in the village to hold an initial community meeting on Wednesday next week so that our community can co-ordinate its strength in getting our message across. Details to follow later this evening.

    Many thanks for your support.
