Radcliffe Rush Hour: Not Quite the Rush You Might Think
Before you get in your cars this morning to go to work, we just wanted to share a short film we took of the traffic that passes our village. Picture this with the additional traffic generated by the 1000 houses already approved planning permission in Bingham and the 400 houses approved for development in Newton, and these have not even been built yet.
Now to add to this, Rushcliffe Borough Council are considering a planning application for a further 400 houses in Radcliffe on Trent, and to top it all, this application is sited on existing Greenbelt land.
We share in your pain as you travel past our village. Drive safe people!

This is a copy of the Planning Application Notification letter was received on Friday by residents of the Radcliffe Community whose properties are on the boundary line with the proposed development site.

The Telegraph: Planning System Heavily Skewed Towards the Interests of Developers
An article in The Telegraph this morning evidences the position that small communities like ours face when challenged with the prospects of large developments.
This will be gone soon if we are not careful.
Have a read of Christopher Hope's article, 'Planning System "heavily skewed towards the interests of developers over those of the public", says architect' at The Telegraph [online] (01 Dec 2013)
